Sad news today. One of our most memorable "bagels" (beagle/basset mix) Ellie passed away today surrounded by her loving family. Ellie came to ABR about 5 years ago with a host of medical issues, most significant being her heartworms. We almost lost Ellie when she developed Caval Syndrome and required emergency surgery to remove the heavy load of heartworms from her heart. But in true hound dog resilience, Ellie survived and lived a great life with her forever family. Our thoughts are with her dad, Matt, tonight. When Matt came to us to adopt, he wanted our hardest to adopt out dog. That was Ellie due to her health issues, as well as being deaf. Thank you, Matt, for giving this girl the home she so deserved. Rest in peace, sweet Ellie. We're all better for having known you. ❤️ ... See MoreSee Less
