This very sweet, cute, older beagle is going to die on July 14, 2010.
She is very pregnant.
We do not have foster space for her and an impending litter of puppies.
We don't know her history so we can't say if she was just the property of careless and ignorant owners, or if she was owned by a "backyard breeder" or if she was part of a hunting pack.
The truth of it is that the "miracle of birth" far too often ends in a pointless death.

The only way to save dogs like this is to aggressively promote spay and neuter education and access to low cost surgery. Ask our gubernatorial candidates if bringing Georgia into the 21st century with regards to animal welfare is even on their radar.
I talk to him when I'm lonesome like; and I'm sure he understands. When he looks at me so attentively, and gently licks my hands; then he rubs his nose on my tailored clothes, but I never say naught thereat. For the good Lord knows I can buy more clothes, but never a friend like that. ~W. Dayton Wedgefarth
